To paddle or not to paddle

DALLAS (Reuters) - More than 200,000 children were hit as punishment in U.S. schools last year and in the South more blacks than whites are struck, two human rights groups said in a report released on Wednesday. (Oh boy, here come the race card)
Texas accounted for a quarter of the instances of corporal punishment in the 2006-2007 school year, according to the study compiled by Human Rights Watch and the American Civil Liberties Union.(Thats right, we still whip that butt, if you misbehave)
The report, titled "A Violent Education: Corporal Punishment of Children in U.S. Public Schools," plays into a debate in America about the effectiveness of corporal punishment and its role in the classroom and home.(You know when you here about inner city school kids cursing out, and or assaulting the teachers in L.A. Brooklyn ect.....it's obvious there is NO discipline at school or home....If I got a lick at school when I got home I got an ass whooping....lets compare My criminal record against any random high school thug wanna be, who doesn't get any guidance, there are a lot of minorities, of all colors, (including the evil white devil the poor trashy Caucasian) out there that are of low socioeconomic status, and they are angry, poorly educated and bring up families in that same environment, to perpetuate the cycle )
Twenty-one U.S. states still permit the use of corporal punishment in schools. In Texas and Mississippi children as young as 3 are struck for transgressions as minor as gum chewing, the report says.(I have NEVER seen a three year old get a paddle to the butt, they are in f-ing day care not school, or at home, I would question the veracity of that particular statistic)
The punishment often involves hitting a child on the buttocks with a long wooden board, or paddle.(Duh, that's why it's called a paddling ya dolt)
In 13 states in the U.S. South where corporal punishment is the most prevalent, African-American girls are twice as likely to be hit as their white counterparts, according to the 125-page report.(Now the question is.........were the girls in question more irascible, less prone to proper behavior or were they the victims of the popular "lets beat darkie" syndrome, the democrats constantly accuse the south of)
"African-American students are punished at 1.4 times the rate that would be expected given their numbers in the student population," the groups said in a statement.(again.....too little facts, what are the records of those being paddled, do they have a history of misbehaving, were the totals all different people, or maybe the same bad apples getting counted more that once, inflating the numbers....too much assumption too little facts)
Citing U.S. Department of Education data, the report said 223,190 students nationwide received corporal punishment at least once in the 2006-2007 school year. This included 49,197 students in Texas, the largest number of any state.(well we can't just shoot em ...dang it...so we gotta do sumthin...lol)
Minority students already face several barriers to success, said Alice Farmer, the report's author.(sorry..I don't fall for that, without exception, every minority that quit blaming everybody else, and took charge of their own life and worked hard, and or educated themselves and stayed out of drugs and crime...has done well...any "barriers " they have are self inflicted....I joined the NAVY to help pay for my education, and I got student loans, and I stayed the hell out of trouble, and I stopped doing things I couldn't afford....go cry somewhere else)
"By exposing these children to disproportionate rates of corporal punishment, schools create a hostile environment in which these students may struggle even more," Farmer said.(I smell bullsh**)
Some U.S. conservatives view moves to ban corporal punishment in school and spanking at home as "liberal permissiveness" which can lead to bad behavior and wider social problems such as juvenile delinquency.(Duh....sound right to me)
Many liberal groups regard corporal punishment as a barbaric relic of an unenlightened past that harms self-esteem and promotes violence.(many liberal raised kids are little misbehaved self-centered bastards........)
"Every public school needs effective methods of discipline but beating kids teaches violence and it doesn't stop bad behavior," Farmer said.(Farmer is a dumb ass)
The report documented several cases in which children were seriously injured and said students with physical and mental disabilities were subjected to disproportionate rates of physical punishment.(Now there is a difference between punishment and abuse, abuse is unacceptable...period, and as for other kids, what kind of disabilities did they have? And once again what were they doing to get in trouble in the first place....siting down and reading their books or cutting up ?)
The report includes witness accounts including one from the mother of a 3-year-old in Texas who was bruised after being struck at school.
"What made me so angry: he's 3 years old, he was petrified. He didn't want to go back to school and he didn't want to start his new school," the mother, referred to as Rose T, was quoted as saying.(where are the police reports?...was there an investigation...if abuse was committed did the mother file charges?...If not why not?...sounds sketchy to me....what kind of school other than day care or pre kindergarten takes three year olds....where I do believe you have to sign a release.....so if in Texas, behave your self, we spank and if you commit murder you get the needle....lol...riff
