The world according to Riff

Digital TV is coming, digital TV is coming.....the sky is falling the sky is falling...lol...(This is more of Burnsey’s field of expertise but hey I try…lol…riff)

As the entire country is aware, the good ole days of analog TV over the air is coming to a close.  I get dish network, so I won't be too troubled. I also plan on getting a digital ready TV for the "Ham Shack", to watch what may be on the air....

I heard in the news today, border business is grumbling. They are crying about those poor people in Mexico that can't afford the digital converter, or a new TV and won’t be able to receive U.S. TV......and their advertisements.

Yep the truth came out really quick.  Call me narrow minded, but I don’t see how people who live in Mexico not getting digital TV from the U.S. inside their country, is our problem.

I do believe that TV has been around for at least 3 years, or maybe a little longer, oh say commercially available since the NINETEEN F-ING 30,S !!!!!!

They DO have TV stations down there, don’t they?

Anyhow there is a movement to get a petition to ask the FCC, to stop it or make an exception to the NATIONALY MANDATED STANDARD… My view on this problem is, that businesses need to go with the flow or get left behind. Maybe just maybe they could pay, lets say uhhm Mexican TV stations for advertisement….in mexico…I live in south Texas, and there are more Spanish radio stations cropping up all over the radio, crowding out English stations, and I just don’t feel like putting up with the same on TV…If I want to hear Spanish programming I’ll move to mexico…thank you very much……riff
