And WHY? Isn't this lady charged
My wife worked at a day care, I am a dad, I do realize that some kids can try your patience and beyond, and even if the kid, that was slammed and lightly kicked, was a little nightmare......the acts seen in the video were unexcusable...if that was my little girl being treated like that in the video....some little 21 year old would have had her ass beat, and I would probably wind up in the hospital......because I would have jumped in between the two to keep my wife from killing that little....witch....(I would not want her to go to prison...lol....I seen her take out a realllly big woman talking smack with a stiff arm that woulda made the "The Fridge" look like a pansy...lol)
Accused Day Care Child Abuser Says 'Overwhelmed' By 2-Year-Olds
Saturday, July 12, 2008
WBAL Radio as reported by Leonard Roberts and Associated Press
A fired YMCA worker charged with abusing a 2-year-old boy told police she was overwhelmed by her job and that the unruly boy needed to be disciplined, according to court documents released Friday.(grand jury didn't indict as of this post)
Amanda M. Markoe, 21, of Frederick, faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted of second-degree child abuse and second-degree assault. She was fired July 2 from her job at the Frederick County YMCA's Child Development Center.
Frederick police announced the charges Thursday.
Neither Markoe nor her lawyer, Frederick attorney Thomas P. Stinton, immediately returned calls from The Associated Press.
The incident June 27 apparently stemmed from the boy's refusal to let go of an object.
Officer Adam Anderson wrote in charging documents that a YMCA videotape shows Markoe kneeling in front of the boy in a room containing about 10 young children. The boy kicks at Markoe but misses. She pushes him away with her forearm. He kicks at her again, and again she pushes him away.(OK the kid is a little shit, I'll agree on that)
He runs off but she catches him by the arm, drags him to the floor and takes something from his hand, according to the court records.
The boy then goes to a table and sweeps a stack of Legos onto the floor. There is another chase, and another capture.(A mean undicsliplined little shit)
At that point, Anderson wrote, Markoe hoisted the boy off the ground by his wrists, carried him across the room and "slammed" him into a chair so hard that "the chair moved backwards."(Now thats where she went overboard....call the parents, or even call the cops if the parents don't act, isolate the little heathen, but do not rough anothers child up like that)
A minute later, she kicked him four times in the left foot and slapped him in the forehead with a plastic baggie filled with action figures, Anderson wrote.(I seen the video, the fight would have been on right there)
Markoe allegedly told police, "I know that it wasn't right, the way that I put him in the chair, but I was angry. I just wanted him to stop."
She said she kicked the boy because he tried to spit at her. When she kicked him, she "was just playing with him," she allegedly told police.(sorry ...no excuse, she was wrong)
Markoe allegedly said that she had asked her supervisors repeatedly to assign her to children other than 2-year-olds because the stress of working alone with as many as 15 of them was overwhelming.
"She said that the victim didn't listen at all every day he was there, and that he needed to be disciplined," Anderson wrote.
I have no tolerence for child abuse, the parents obviously don't disclipline the brat, but it isn't the day care workers place to be the parent.....My little girl behaved in day care, because if she didn't I or my wife would spank her butt, she even tried spitting once, and biting...lets just say she dropped those bad habits, very quickly.....it's called parenting....but this 21 year old needs a little payback put on her....if she can't handle the heat stay out of the kitchen....kick the little shit out, make the parents deal with it....don't abuse the child no matter how much he deserves it......lol.riff
