recently bought 12 magnets that were 1 inch by 1/2 inch in diameter...and these puppies were strong...got a blood blister on my finger from two of them coming together....The goal I am after is to develop a power generation system to power the "ham shack", in case I lose main power......and these small magnets are just a part of the learning curve...I plan to build an axial flux generator, of at least 1kw or maybe 2kw, in order to power a good linear amp and a few computers, and my TS-2000, in order to do PSK and a few other modes......if I lost you on some of that....that's OK .....I happen to be a general class Amateur Radio operator, and "we" often use lingo specific to the hobby that a lot o people don't usually use......Any how I am working on a alternator capable of generating power from thing wind that can meet my needs. I plan to start off small and perfect the variable issues  that are inherent to this type of construction.....wish me luck...and i will keep you posteed

NEW YORK – A Wal-Mart worker was killed Friday when "out-of-control" shoppers desperate for bargains broke down the doors at a 5 a.m. sale. Other workers were trampled as they tried to rescue the man, and customers shouted angrily and kept shopping when store officials said they were closing because of the death, police and witnesses said.

At least four other people, including a woman who was eight months pregnant, were taken to hospitals for observation or minor injuries, and the store in Valley Stream on Long Island closed for several hours before reopening.

Shoppers stepped over the man on the ground and streamed into the store. When told to leave, they complained that they had been in line since Thursday morning.

Nassau police said about 2,000 people were gathered outside the store doors at the mall about 20 miles east of Manhattan. The impatient crowd knocked the man, identified by police as Jdimytai Damour of Queens, to the ground as he opened the doors, leaving a metal portion of the frame crumpled like an accordion.

"This crowd was out of control," said Nassau police spokesman Lt. Michael Fleming. He described the scene as "utter chaos."

Dozens of store employees trying to fight their way out to help Damour were also getting trampled by the crowd, Fleming said.

Items on sale at the store included a Samsung 50-inch Plasma HDTV for $798, a Bissel Compact Upright Vacuum for $28, a Samsung 10.2 megapixel digital camera for $69 and DVDs such as "The Incredible Hulk" for $9.

Damour, 34, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead about 6 a.m., police said. The exact cause of death has not been determined.

A 28-year-old pregnant woman was taken to a hospital, where she and the baby were reported to be OK, said police Sgt. Anthony Repalone.

Police said criminal charges were possible in the case, but Fleming said it would be difficult to identify individual shoppers. Authorities were reviewing surveillance video.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc., based in Bentonville, Ark., called the incident a "tragic situation" and said the employee came from a temporary agency and was doing maintenance work at the store.

"The safety and security of our customers and associates is our top priority," said Dan Fogleman, a company spokesman. "At this point, facts are still being assembled and we are working closely with the Nassau County Police as they investigate what occurred."

Kimberly Cribbs, who witnessed the stampede, said shoppers were acting like "savages."

"When they were saying they had to leave, that an employee got killed, people were yelling 'I've been on line since yesterday morning,'" she said. "They kept shopping."

Shoppers around the country line up early outside stores on the day after Thanksgiving in the annual bargain-hunting ritual known as Black Friday. It got that name because it has historically been the day when stores broke into profitability for the full year.

STUART, Fla. - A student at a Florida school has been arrested after authorities said he was "passing gas" and turning off his classmates' computers. According to a report released Friday by the Martin County Sheriff's Office, the 13-year-old boy "continually disrupted his classroom environment" by intentionally breaking wind. He then shut off some computers other students were using. (*sniff sniff*...Teacher.....Billy 's been eating pickled eggs again....."

The Spectrum Junior-Senior High School was arrested Nov. 4.

A school resource officer placed the boy under arrest after he confessed about his behavior, according to the report. He was charged with disruption of school function and released to his mother. (hey Mr's Crabtree....pull my finger...he he he.....)

Now the big question is WHY is this news....and just HOW BAD was this kids flatulence that he got arrested for it....musta been some potent stuff....lol....riff

I listen to the radio a lot on the way to and from work, and I hear a lot of stuff that takes a few days to filter down to the rest of the usual sites, if it does at all....I heard yesterday something that struck me as profound, and something non political and partisan in any way, that I could actually say I agree with wholeheartedly  and without reservations, on something Obammy stands for.....We don't like beets....Nasty little fellas, taste like dirt to me....and I don't care what the Beet lady in Austin area says...they are nasty....no matter how ya cook em.....Now if we can just get Obammy to kick Rosie O'Donnell in her fat ass on public TV, and bend Hillarhoid over a saw horse and paddle her back side black and blue ....well........there might just be hope for him......and it all started with beets....rofl...riff

I recently got the iphone 3g....and there have been some good things and some bad things about it....
1.  COOLNESS....I like it it is cool, it is in it's essence a somewhat limited pc with a phone.....the model I got was the 15 gig...I have had very little dead zones when mobile....as with the phone part no real issues....except that you have limited providers you can deal with....I got ATT so I don't have a real problem at present
2.  APPLICATIONS....there are a shitload of "apps" as they call them.  Some cool some good some are crap...I work in the medical field and have useed epocrates and ob wheel and skyscape a few time in the line of work as a reference...I have also played a few game apps...some good some crap...most are crap. There are a lot of other apps there in a variety of different areas....I use an app that checks the local satillites for the weather in my area, I also got one that works as a level, and a decibal meter.....just be careful what you pay for on their apps.
3.  BATTERY.... i phone missed the boat completely on this one.....you can't replace a bad battery....only THEY can...unless you void any warranty you might have.....it don't last long at all with any usage other than "just phone" stuff....if you shut down all of your roaming options for the internet, and shut off 3G, and shut down any app that uses the network......the battery does OK...it can even last a few days if you don't "play" with the phone at all, except to send or receive calls....if you you use the damn thing for any other of its capabilities be prepared to have backup source of power handy.
4. PRICE  a little on the "ouch"   side...in addition to the regular phone charge, for a cell,if you get unlimited texting, and unlimited internet....depending on your locale...it can be a bit expensive...i pay 30 a month per phone on the family plan ....where I am at..
5. OVERALL SATISFACTION........I LIKE IT!!!!...as with any product there ids good and bad.....after all the "wow" and all the "damn"....there is more "WOW"   than damn.
6.  PROGRAMIBILITY.... Apple is pretty damn exclusive......only  "i tunes" can deal with the goddamn phone when you want to do anything like manage your i tunes or put a movie on the phone....you gotta go through a Lotta bullshit if you want to put your home DVD's on your phone...."I watch a movie while working out on the elliptical in the gym"....other phones can let you p,lay with your own ring tones, and add "whatever " crap to your phone....but not i phone.......but it does keep the hacker and virus problem at a minimum.....

Don't have all the details yet, but a Illegal from Honduras was convicted of sexual assault on a 13 year old....(gee where have we heard this type of story before?????)....The 21 year old peice of illlegal alien slime was given 8 count them.....8 fricken years deferred adjudication....as the asshat judge in houston put it....in the best intrest of the victim....WTF???????  Somebody needs to have his family member raped and or sexually assaulted by a illegal immigrant....and see if he shows the same easy judgment on that one....in the victims best intrest.......HA!!!..I bet not.........what an asshole.....and as for the slimeball sex offender.....he needs a bullet .....riff
