Generator update
Well since I drilled a hole in the stator on my generator attempt......I just haven't gotten around to re-doing the stator yet......BUT, I have found a solution to my portable power issues when "in the field" and have no power to plug into. I went digging through my junk box and found two 24 volt gearhead motors....40 rpms at 24 volts DC, with a lot of torque........now just remember if you get a regular DC motor and put electricity through it you get rotation...If you rotate it you get dc current....so....I hooked it up to a volt meter and spun it....yeeeeeha....35 to 58 volts depending on how hard I cranked the handle!....Just add a zener diode or two or voltage regulator, and a couple of caps to smooth out the ripple....BAM 12 to 13.8 volts regulated DC...that is cell phone power, battery recharge power, in a pinch even add an inverter for some very light on the amps 110 volt AC......more later...riff
