AUSTIN, Texas  An Austin husband and wife have been arrested and charged with murdering and burning a 21-year-old woman's body the night of Austin's Mardi Gras.

The body of 21-year-old Christy Lynne Espinosa was found burned beside a road in eastern Travis County. The Austin-area woman had been last seen celebrating Mardi Gras in Austin.

Sheriff's spokesman Roger Wade says 26-year-old Martha Medina-Hernandez and 33-year-old Kenneth Hernandez are charged with murder. Medina-Hernandez was arrested in Eagle Pass on Sunday, while Hernandez was arrested Tuesday in Austin.

Arrest affidavits say Espinosa was riding with the Hernandezes as they drove around Travis County drinking on Feb. 24. Statements differ on the motive behind Espinosa's death, but the arrest affidavits say the husband and wife blame each other for the death.

I Also heard from friends of the victim, that the now deceased girl, resembled the accused female, and the motive was identity theft, ....because the women had an active criminal record, and needed to be able to cross the border frequently....Gee. ...I bet they were doing humanitarian work........Just doing the jobs we lazy Americans won't...I geuss...(unknown if the accused are illegal, or natural citizens)....riff
